ROTAT+ can be used to design sustainable cropping systems. It consists of the original ROTAT crop rotation generator that creates a set of agronomically feasible crop sequences (Dogliotti et al. 2003). Additional models quantify for each of the crop sequences a broad set of indicators such as crop productivity, soil organic matter build-up and soil erosion, in dependence of different crop management procedures (Dogliotti et al., 2004; 2005).
